We are, finally, settling in to our new room and finding the perfect set-up for our needs. I appreciate all the parents’ patience and the trust they have placed in us in deciding our daycare was the perfect place for their children. We now have a new big window that the children can easily look out of and that will provide a view of the outdoors that can easily be transformed into an educational tool. This month, we will have a small Halloween Party together. Hopefully, it will be a big hit, as it always is.
An extra change of clothes is always appreciated in order to keep your child in clean and dry clothes. We do a lot of different activities using paint and water at the sensory table, and, in addition, your child is now at the age when he/she can reach a sink easily. While learning how to wash up is a small but important step in your child’s development, it can also be quite messy.
Since the weather is also getting chilly and the playground in the morning can be downright cold, feel free to bring a warmer coat, hat, and mittens for cold mornings.
We are so excited for Halloween activities!
Dramatic play is a fun learning tool and helps children act out and perfect the daily routines they are accustomed to and even helps them discover how to act in different situation when they have to make up stories. The children love to play in the kitchen area and take long walks with the baby dolls. Dramatic play can also help your child discover new activities that perhaps they previously didn’t realize were available to them. At our learning center, we often see boys playacting a father making breakfast, and girls working with tools and playacting a mechanic fixing a scooter.
