Read below as we have lots of important, exciting news to share with you.
We would like to welcome Ms. Alysia and Ms. Nicole! Ms. Alysia will be assisting in the nursery this summer, as well as other classrooms as needed. Ms. Nicole will be working with the preschool classroom and helping out on field trips. Please take a moment to introduce yourself if you have not yet met our new teachers. We are so happy to have them!
Lastly, congratulations to the preschool graduating class of 2015! The toddler room wishes you the best of luck in kindergarten next year! We couldn’t be more proud of you!
Babes in Toyland has decided to make our annual summer camp, Summer Fun, toddler friendly this year! Our class will be participating in all of the activities that the older children partake in, with the exception of ‘out of center’ field trips. Please refer to the note send home for more information on the materials fee and ‘in center’ field trip fees. Also, make sure you take a look at the calendar (you can find it here) so you know what’s going on this summer. We cannot wait for Summer Fun to begin!
This year, we are hosting a fundraiser to benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital by having a Bike Day! Our bike day is scheduled for June 19th. On this day, you may bring your bike and helmet to school and learn all about bike safety.
A fundraising packet will be sent home at the beginning of the month, and all donations are due back by June 19th. More information will be included in the packet. We have set a $50 goal per child… let’s try to reach it and help others live a better life. Thank you in advance for your participation- it is greatly appreciated!
*Donuts with Dad*
In celebration of Father’s Day, we are inviting families to join us for Donuts with Dad (or someone special)! This will take place Friday, June 19 between 6:30 and 9:00 a.m.
Please remember to check your child’s daily sheet each day for items that he/she needs. This includes short sleeve shirts, shorts, socks, a hat for going outside, sunscreen, etc. Also, please keep in mind that we have a “close toed shoe” policy. This means no flip flops or open toed sandals. Thank you for helping keep our little ones’ feet protected while playing outside - bloody toes are not fun for anybody!
Reminder that we go outside twice a day, once in the morning between 9:30 and 10:15, and again in the afternoon from 3:30 to 4:00. Unless it is raining, or the temperature is above the safe upper limit, we will be going outside. No worries, we protect our little ones with sunscreen, proper clothing and hats, and of course provide water cups all day long :)
*Potty Training Reminder*
We have successfully completed our first week of potty training, and it went great! The toddler room teachers will continue working with your child as they become more comfortable with toilet training. A few things to keep in mind:
Ø - NO onesies, please! It is very difficult to potty train when a child
cannot get his or her shirt off due to the snaps. Also, we do not want any
clothing falling into the toilet… yikes!
Ø - Please continue to send in diapers only. No Pull- Ups or underwear, thank you!
If you have any questions regarding your child’s progress or any questions about potty training in general, please ask Ms. Melyssa. I would be happy to give you some tips to train at home :)
