We’re excited the start the month off with a Bang, Pop, and Crackle! as we jump right into Fourth of July projects to celebrate our country’s Independence Day with some fun activities. But the fun doesn’t stop there! On July 6th we will be bouncing with Spongebob, so remember to prepare for our second bouncehouse of the summer. And, speaking of bouncehouses, have you checked out photos from our first bouncehouse yet? If not, head over to our gallery page.
By now, you have surely noticed that the cucumber and tomato plants in our environmental garden have been growing like crazy. We will soon start planting and transplanting some bean plants, so make sure to ask your kid(s) about recent developments in the garden.
Aside from that, this month will be ripe with all sorts of other activities. We will be sensorily exploring clean and dirty mud; as a tastier corollary to that, we will also be making yummy dirt cups. We will be making moon sand, fossils, clay bowls, and, funnest of all, we will be making Slime. To develop our artistic abilities, we will be painting toast (yep, like the bread!), and, well, also regular canvases. As part of our cooking project series, we will be making various delicious snacks, such as a giant fruit salad and healthy trail mix. Of course, this isn’t quite an exhaustive list of our activities this month, but you get the gist of it. It’ll be fun!
Dates to Remember
3rd – closed for the Fourth of July
6th – Spongebob Bouncehouse
13th – Friendship Salad Lunch (don’t forget to sign up!)
16th – Dinosaur Hill Trip
20th – North Hill Field Hockey & Picnic
30th – Castle Bouncehouse
Remember that Thursday is Show and Tell day.
For field trip days, please remember to wear comfortable shoes (no open-toed shoes or crocks please) and bring in a brown bag lunch. Lunchboxes are a little too bulky for us to transport en masse.
Also, we recommend that you clean out your kid’s cubby once a week. Over the summer, stuff tends to accumulate.
