February is all about Valentine's Day!
We will be exploring different shapes by looking at and playing with red and pink blocks, balls, and food. We are also going to explore red jello at the sensory table. In tune with the holiday of love, we will talk about different feelings and emotions while making faces in a mirror. The little ones don't yet quite understand what is going on inside, so we can help them express themselves by acknowledging their emotons and explaining them through imitation and situations throughout the day.
We would appreciate it if you could send in Valentine's Day cards for your child's classmates and encourage your child to spread the love on Valentine's Day. A dozen cards or so should be enough, and please remember to write down your child's name under “From.”
We will decorating bags for all the Valentines we'll receive this Valentine's Day from our friends.
Your children may get messy when they eat, but allowing them to explore their food and feed themselves gives them a sense of accomplishment. Encourage young children to try different textures and tastes as they eat their meals with you. Mealtime can be not only a nice time to catch up with the family, but it can also be turned into a real learning experience.
