This month we are going to explore different shapes, such as blocks and balls, and different textures, like rough and smooth, and wet and dry. We will also talk about different feelings and emotions while we make faces in the mirror and play with our friends. At their age, the little ones don't quite understand how to express feelings and emotions, so by giving them the words to use and acknowledging their emotions, we help them develop socially.
In addition, we will also be reading lots of books and stories involving shapes and textures.
This month, we are excited to work on gifts for mom and dad.
Even at play babies are learning. Toys need to be durable, versatile, washable, and able to motivate. They need not to be expensive either. For young infants are, we suggest squeeze toys, bottles with different shapes and textures, and unbreakable mirrors. For the mobile ones, tunnels and stacking toys are a good idea. Please remember to avoid small toys. Generally, if a toy can fit through an empty toilet paper tube, it's too small.
