This month we will be exploring Thanksgiving and everything surrounding this November holiday. The children will participate in different activities that involve the Thanksgiving holiday, such as a sensory activity in which we will be exploring the diverse textures of leaves, feathers, and other fall-related objects. Around Thanksgiving, we will be making hand-print turkeys, which should be a fun-filled and festive event.
The weather is getting cooler, so we’d like to ask you to please dress your child for this kind of weather, and remember to bring in a warm coat for outdoor activities on cooler days.
We will be celebrating a long-lived American tradition with a traditional Thanksgiving feast, where the children will share turkey, gravy, and all the trimmings.
Meal time is not just a time for eating dinner; it is a time to bond and talk to your child as he/she is discovering new foods and new food textures. As well, it is the perfect time for parents to establish a great eating environment and routines by promoting regular meal times and snacks beginning about the time the child is 9-12 months. Such routines will help your child look forward to meal time and spending time with the family.
