During the month of December we will be focusing on winter and the upcoming holidays. We'll be exploring snow and ice, painting with ice cubes, making holiday crafts as gifts for our loved ones, making cookies, and reading books about animals that live in forests or in the Arctic.
As we count down to Christmas, we will practicing winter songs and hymes for our Christmas program. The distinguished Mr. Santa Claus himself will be making an appearance at our center on the 18th, so we certainly need to impress him. We will keep you posted with more info about the party through our staff and family communication boards.
The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats
This is a lovely book about children having all kinds of fun in a winter wonderland, whether leaving tracks in the snow, smacking a snow covered tree, snowball fight, making a snowman or snow angels, or sledding down the hill.
